2009 MLC FARM CHARITY EVENT & HORSE SHOW TO BENEFIT ANITA MEMORIAL FUND
Stanfordville, NY – –On Friday, October 23 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm, MLC Farm in Stanfordville, NY, will host a Sponsor/ Cocktail Party to benefit The Anita Memorial Fund (TAMF) of the Equine Rescue. Additionally, the third annual Hunter/Jumper Charity Horse Show to benefit TAMF at MLC Farm on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25 starting at 8:00 AM.

The Anita Memorial Fund was set up to provide emergency funding for abused and neglected horses rescued by the Equine Rescue Incorporated (ERI) of Hudson Valley. The fund was named in honor of Anita, a wonderful horsewoman who died after a courageous battle with cancer. Several of Anita’s friends wanted to continue her mission of rescuing and rehabilitating abused and starving horses, so the TAMF was formed. The fund is to be used strictly for daily care necessities (grain, hay, vet and blacksmith, medicines, and supplements) for neglected horses that have been removed by law enforcement from facilities that are deemed abusive situations. Once the animals enter the ERI program they live with either the rescue or with an approved adoptive family.

“We are so thrilled to be hosting the third annual TAMF horse show,” said Michelle Clopp, director of the Charity Horse Show. “The Anita Memorial Fund and the Equine Rescue are such worthwhile organizations.  I know this year is even more important to keep giving to the rescue because donations have been less due to the economy.  We have to keep helping to save these abused and starving horses.  Our goal each year is to raise more money than the last year, so we can continue to help to save more horses lives”.  Within the last two years we have helped to raise over $30,000 in donations.

For more information on the fundraiser party or for a horse show prize list, please contact: Michelle Clopp at MLC Farm at 845-868-7946 or by email mlcfarm@aol.com.
Tax deductible donations for the Anita Memorial Fund can either be made at the MLC Farm Charity Horse Show or mailed directly to “The Anita Memorial Fund” c/o Equine Rescue, Inc. Further information about Equine Rescue and “The Anita Memorial Fund” can be found on the ERI website at www.equine-rescue.org or by calling them at (845) 733-6085.

These animals would not have survived if it was not for the care and love of the Equine Rescue Inc.  Please help continue to save the lives of other starving and abused horses!
